Thomas Golecki is a structural engineer with more than 12 years of experience in structural analysis, simulation of a variety of structures including bridges, buildings and radar structures. During this time, he has developed programming skills to improve efficiency and to make calculations traceable, repeatable, checkable, and highly automated.
Prior to joining Intelligent Infrastructure Systems, Mr. Golecki worked on precision structures and nuclear facilities. His work on precision structures included analysis, structural evaluations for strength and fatigue, operational evaluations for surface distortion and pointing accuracy, and design of structures including radio telescopes, phased array radar structures, and air-supported radomes. His experience in nuclear facility work includes soil-structure interaction analysis, structural evaluation and design of steel and concrete components and development of automated programs to process data and confirm software Quality Assurance requirements. Work on large structural models includes development of python software tools to efficiently post-process results for cumulative output such as base shear and overturning demands, wall section forces, broadened response spectra and others. Many of these tools continue to be used on multiple other projects.
Mr. Golecki is responsible for implementing a variety of finite element and programming based analysis methodologies to accurately represent a variety of static and dynamic loading and structural response behaviors. He has experience in a wide variety of software tools and a fundamental understanding of the technical basis behind them.
Mr. Golecki earned BS degrees in Civil and Architectural Engineering, and an MS in Civil Engineering (Structural concentration) from Drexel University in 2008. He is a member of ASCE – Structural Engineering Institute and the American Institute for Steel Construction and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. He is also a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois.
