Services

At Intelligent Infrastructure Systems, our services describe the various areas of expertise of our team. While listed separately, our services are complimentary to one another. Most of our projects benefit from not only the depth, but also the breadth of knowledge and skills within the group, the unifying theme of these skill sets being structural engineering. Our engineers are professionally licensed in 14 states, and the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

Intelligent Infrastructure staff actively participate in various industry-leading organizations including: American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), ASCE-SEI, International Modal Analysis Conference (IMAC), International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering (IBASE), International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), International Bridge + Structure Management Conference, Heavy Moveable Structures, and Transportation Research Board. Through these affiliations and the challenging projects we encounter within the services below, we strive to continually advance the state-of-the-practice.

STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING (SHM)

Where a bridge is complex or exposed to high-risk hazards or vulnerabilities, a structural health monitoring system can provide great value to owners by properly tracking and managing the risks of concern.

REFINED LOAD RATINGS

Our automated refined analysis routine – Bridgemiser – enables efficient, repeatable and traceable load ratings and presents results interactively, across a complete structure for a more comprehensive understanding of the structure, and the analysis results.

NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT)

Our experience with nondestructive evaluation saves time and helps owners make better decisions about their structures to develop suitable maintenance and rehabilitation schemes to increase its safety and durability.

MOVEABLE BRIDGES

IIS has experience with multiple types of movable bridges that have faced challenges varying from severe degradation of primary structural elements to construction activities which altered the state of balance of the spans.

LOAD TESTING

IIS has experience in load testing of structures for capacity evaluation of both documented and undocumented bridges as well as to address specific performance issues.

FATIGUE ANALYSIS

IIS has experience with the complete spectrum of analytical and experimental tools and techniques that may be required to evaluate a fatigue problem.

FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS (FEA)

Finite Element Analysis is based on the specific needs of each project, the process of building and leveraging a FE model is guided by the scope of the project and the specific purpose of the model.

TRANSPORTATION ASSET MANAGEMENT

Support infrastructure owners in making difficult decisions by providing technology and tools to facilitate operations, as well as objective, reliable data upon which to base decisions.

APPLIED RESEARCH

IIS works to bring new ideas and technologies out of the lab and into the field, where true performance and worth can be established.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE

IIS maintains the capability to rapidly respond to civil infrastructure emergencies to assist owners with actionable and timely information related to structural performance issues.
