Navid Zolghadri, PhD
Staff Engineer

Dr. Zolghadri is a Staff Engineer with Intelligent Infrastructure Systems where he focuses his efforts on structural health monitoring, live load testing, finite element modeling, and weigh-in-motion activities for bridges.

Dr. Zolghadri’s PhD dissertation focused on several aspects of short- and long-term structural health monitoring being used as promising tools for the condition assessment of highway bridges. His research studied the effect of temperature on vibrational characteristics of two continuously monitored bridges, the feasibility of using a single-span bridge as a weigh-in-motion tool to quantify the gross vehicle weights (GVW) of trucks, and the application of both static and dynamic-based FE model updating of a full-scale bridge.

Dr. Zolghadri earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, MS in Civil (Structural) Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, and his PhD in Civil (Structural) Engineering Utah State University.  He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) Committee – Methods of Monitoring Structural Performance and a friend of Transportation Research Board - Committee AFF40 - Field Testing and Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE), Transportation Research Board - Transportation Structures, Subcommittee AFF40(1) - Nondestructive Evaluation of Structures, Transportation Research Board - Joint Subcommittee - Structural Health Monitoring, and ASNT Infrastructure.
